Road No. 312 worth US$24 million in Prey Veng province is officially groundbreaking

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) has opened a site to upgrade the quality of repair and maintenance of Provincial Road 312, a strategic road in Prey Veng province, at a cost of more than US$ 24 million.

Samdech Krala Hom Sar Kheng, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Interior, presided over the groundbreaking ceremony on June 9, 2023.

Provincial Road No. 312 is an important strategic road that passes through four communes in Preah Sdach District, Prey Veng Province, including Lvea Commune, Chey Kampok Commune, Angkor Reach Commune and Banteay Chakrei Commune. This road line is connected to National Road No. 1, Provincial Road No. 312A and the border ring road, which connects the urban area to the border area (Cambodia-Vietnam).

In addition, Provincial Road No. 312 is 28,372 km long, starting from Samrong village, Lvea commune (at the intersection of National Road No. 1, km 77 + 082) to Ko village, Banteay Chakrei commune (Cambodia-Vietnam border). Of geography Preah Sdach district, Prey Veng province.

The project will rehabilitate and widen the road width, which is currently about 4 to 5 meters to a width of 12 meters and upgrade the quality from a two-layer pavement (DBST) to a six-ply AC pavement. Cm and 8 cm and 25 cm thick reinforced concrete pavement with a total width of 11 m and lanes for cars and bicycles (2 lanes).

ILSUNG-KR JOINT VENTURE will also build the road with a construction period of 18 months and a maintenance period of 60 months with a loan from the Asian Development Bank with a government contribution of approximately 24.89 million. Dollars.

In addition, the Ministry of Public Works and Transport is cooperating with the Asian Development Bank on the preparation of technical documents for the construction of the Banteay Chakrei-Dinh Ba International Border Crossing, which is planned to use approximately $ 8.5 million from the funds saved in the Phase 2 Road Upgrading Project. (RNIP Phase 2).

The border crossing will open a wide range of opportunities for cooperation between the two countries (Cambodia-Vietnam) to increase investment, and cross-border trade, create jobs for people and attract tourists.
