Road Renovation at Khmer-Thai border Set for Completion Late July

The Battambang Provincial Department of Public Works and Transport is speeding up construction work on a new DBST paved road connecting to Phnom Dei Khmer-Thai international border gate in Sampov Loun district, aiming for completion by the end of July.

Director of Battambang Provincial Department of Public Works and Transport Pruon Riththa said during the inspection that this provincial road No. 1592 is 360 metres long and 9 metres wide.

“To date, the road is almost 100% paved with DBST. Now, the team is working on installing a drainage system,” he added.

This road is located in Santepheap commune, Sampov Loun district and is currently being built under the budget of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport.

Battambang Governor HE Nguon Rattanak said that this road is a very crucial road for cross border trade, as it will help eases border transportation especially for big trucks.
