Shinto Holdings Expresses Interest in Investing in Environment & AI Sectors in Cambodia

In a recent meeting in Tokyo, Japan, Prime Minister Hun Manet discussed potential investment opportunities in Cambodia with Deng Minghui, President of Shinto Holdings Inc. The Japanese company focuses on environmental initiatives and artificial intelligence (AI) as part of its investment strategy.

Shinto Holdings, established in 1984 and listed on the Japanese stock exchange, boasts extensive experience in a variety of sectors, including waste management, the garment industry, real estate, and AI. During their meeting, Minghui outlined the company’s commitment to environmental services, particularly in waste management and recycling, which aligns with Cambodia’s commitment to sustainable development.

The Prime Minister welcomed Shinto Holdings’ interest, emphasising Cambodia’s open investment policies and the government’s initiative to encourage growth in priority sectors. He noted that as urbanisation and population growth continue, investments in environmental protection, such as waste recycling and wastewater treatment, are becoming increasingly critical.

PM encouraged Shinto Holdings to collaborate with local partners to maximize the potential for successful investment in Cambodia’s burgeoning economy. This partnership could enhance efforts in both environmental preservation and technological advancement in the region, marking a significant step towards sustainability and innovation in Cambodia.

This initiative not only highlights Cambodia’s appeal as an investment destination but also underscores the importance of international collaboration in addressing environmental challenges.
