The ferry carrying passengers across the Mekong River from Stueng Trang district in Kampong Cham province and Kroch Chhmar district in Tboung Khmum province has been sent to be reused in Kampong Chhnang province after the two districts were connected by the new bridge.

The ferry will be used to carry passengers and vehicles across three rivers crossings from Kampong Chhnang downtown to Kampong Leng district, according to the Department of Public Works and Transport of Kampong Chhnang Province.

Officials picked up the ferry from Kampong Cham province on Monday 24 May and the group are expected to arrive in Kampong Chhnang by Wednesday 26 May.

After the construction of Road 50C connecting Kampong Leng District to NR6 in Kampong Thom province, demand for ferries in that spot has been increasing. Therefore, this additional ferry will facilitate easier transit.
