Sunview Group Berhad Plans to Power Cambodia’s Future with 100 MW Solar Plant in Tboung Khmum

unview Group Berhad, a Malaysian-based company specializing in solar power, plans to construct a 100 MW solar power plant in Cambodia’s Tboung Khmum province. The company’s CEO, OUG HANGPING, met with HE Dr. Cheam Chansophoan, Governor of Tboung Khmum province, to discuss the project on 6 March 2023.

Sunview Group Berhad is actively involved in building large-scale solar power plants in many countries across Europe and Asia. According to Oug Hangping, the company is interested in investing in Tboung Khmum province due to Cambodia’s progress in various sectors, the province’s ideal location for solar energy, and the potential for solar energy development.

The proposed solar power plant will be located in Tboung Khmum province, and the company is currently studying potential sites. Sunview Group Berhad is seeking assistance from the provincial administration to further discuss the project with the provincial Electricity Authority of Cambodia (EAC).

“We strongly hope that Sunview Group Berhad will invest in this solar power plant in Tboung Khmum province, and the relevant provincial administrations and departments are glad to fully cooperate to provide information to ensure a clear and safe cooperation for the company,” said the Tboung Khmum governor.

The project is expected to provide significant benefits to Cambodia, including increased access to renewable energy and potential job opportunities for local communities. With the support of the provincial administration and EAC, Sunview Group Berhad is poised to positively impact Cambodia’s energy sector and contribute to the country’s sustainable development goals.
