Takeo Province Leads the Charge in Job Creation and Investment Attraction

Takeo Province is making significant strides in attracting investment, with nearly 800 factories currently operating, creating substantial job opportunities for the local population. His Excellency Wei Samnang, Governor of the Takeo Provincial Government, emphasized this commitment during a meeting with over 500 workers in Por Pel Commune, Tram Kak District, on May 18, 2025.

During the meeting, Governor Wei highlighted the province’s proactive approach to fostering a favorable environment for investors. He noted that new factories and enterprises are being established closer to communities, which not only creates jobs but also reduces the need for migration. “Our stability and national security inspire confidence among investors, making Takeo an attractive destination for factory establishment,” he stated.

The numbers speak for themselves: according to the Provincial Department of Labor, Training and Vocational Training, Takeo currently boasts 769 factories and enterprises employing a total of 111,968 workers, with 79,610 of those being women. Among these, there are 115 textile and garment factories, 455 non-garment factories, 195 service sector enterprises, and 4 brick-making workshops.

Governor Wei is steadfast in his commitment to enhancing the local economy by attracting more investors to the region. His goal is clear: to ensure that job opportunities are available close to home, thus improving the living standards of the people of Takeo. With such promising developments underway, the future looks bright for both the province and its hardworking residents.
