Techo International Airport completed more than 90%, cost of USD1.3 billion

As of the first week of November 2024, the construction of Techo International Airport has achieved more than 90% with a cost of more than USD 1.3 billion.

HE Sinn Chansery Vutha, Secretary of State and Spokesman for the Secretariat of State for Civil Aviation of Cambodia said on November 6 that the major construction of the Techo International Airport project would be completed by the end of 2024, while the remaining work will continue, completely before the planned process at the end of the first half of next year.

He Sin Chansery Vutha stated, “The construction progress of Techo International Airport is currently over 90%, with more than USD1.3 billion already spent, creating employment opportunities for over 15,000 staff and managers.

“If there are no changes, the major construction work is expected to be completed by the end of December this year. The remaining tasks, which include applying for a civil aviation license and conducting safety tests, will be finalized within six months.”.

Techo International Airport project has been authorized by the Royal Government to CAIC, a joint venture between the Royal Government of Cambodia and OCIC, to build and develop the new airport in Kandal and Takeo provinces, covering over 2,600 hectares and located 20 kilometres south of Phnom Penh.
