Unveiling the Majestic Techo Aphivadh Building: Calmette Hospital’s Grand Symbol of Modern Health Care for Cambodia

Amidst great anticipation, the grand inauguration of the remarkable Techo Aphivadh Building at Calmette Hospital took place, with the honorable presence of Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen.

The esteemed Minister of Health, His Excellency Professor Mam Bunheng, revealed that the inauguration ceremony held on 23rd May 2023 marked the culmination of the ambitious project, which encompassed the construction and equipping of the entire building at a staggering value of US$70,331,811.11. The endeavor was made possible through the generous contributions of Samdech Hun Sen, Samdech Kittipritthbandit, the Cambodian government, and compassionate philanthropists, who rallied behind Calmette Hospital on 24th November 2019 under the heartfelt motto of “Donate for human life.”

His Excellency Professor Mam Bunheng further elaborated that the Techo Aphivadh Building, an architectural marvel situated along Monivong Blvd., spans an impressive length of 153 meters, with a width of 22.5 meters. Towering at a height of 12 floors and 2 basements, the building boasts a sprawling total area of 48,195 square meters, meticulously constructed in accordance with the internationally recognized standards of the medical field, following the French technical specifications. Housing a total of 426 beds, the building serves as a testament to the pursuit of excellence.

This illustrious Techo Development Building, with its state-of-the-art infrastructure and cutting-edge facilities, is poised to cater to the healthcare needs of approximately 250,000 patients annually. Furthermore, it will serve as a distinguished training center for aspiring medical students, fostering their education and research endeavors through the utilization of the nation’s leading digital systems.

The Techo Development Project of Calmette Hospital, which commenced its construction on 8th March 2018 under the guidance of HE Professor Mam Bunheng, Minister of Health, has finally come to fruition. The Techo Aphivadh Building stands tall as a testament to Cambodia’s unwavering commitment to advancing healthcare infrastructure, and it symbolizes a beacon of hope and progress for the nation.
