NR No. 33 Rehabilitation Project Nears Completion with 81.26% Progress, Sets for Completion This Year

The rehabilitation and upgrade of NR No. 33 (Kampot-Chrak Lok) has reached 81.26% completion as of June 2024, with the project expected to be finished by the end of the year. This milestone was reported during an inspection visit by HE Pal Chandara, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, on 5 June 2024.

During the inspection, HE Pal Chandara instructed the construction companies to prioritise the proper execution of technical work to facilitate travel and transportation. He emphasised the importance of maintaining safety standards at the site, ensuring traffic signs are properly set up according to safety guidelines.

The project aims to rehabilitate NR No. 33, which spans approximately 52.57km, connecting Kampot province to Lok at the Cambodia-Vietnam border. The road passes through Teuk Chhou and Kampong Trach districts of Kampot province, Kep City, and Damnak Chang Eur district of Kep province. This significant infrastructure project is funded through a concessional loan from the Government of the People’s Republic of China, supplemented by the government’s budget for settling various impacts and taxes.
