Tourism Development Master Plan focuses on three main connections in Mondulkiri province

The Master Plan on Tourism Development in Mondulkiri province 2022-2035 focuses on connecting the three main means of transportation for Mondulkiri province.

The sixth strategic direction of the master plan stated the connection to facilitate travel and integrate within the national and regional framework, in three ways air, waterway, and expressway connections.

Currently, the Royal Government of Cambodia is implementing the construction of Mondulkiri Airport, which not only connects domestic airports but also connects with neighboring countries such as Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand.

According to the Secretariat of State for Civil Aviation, the construction of the airport will be completed by the end of 2023.

Waterway connection: Since Koh Nhek district has the Srepok River which connects with the Mekong River, Cambodia can connect the waterway tourism network from the point of Chaktomuk River, Tonle Sap area, coastal area and will have a floating airport for the tourism sector.

Regarding the land Connection, the master plan promotes the study and development of the highway connecting Phnom Penh to Sen Monorom district, Mondulkiri Province, which is set in the vision to 2035.
