Toyota Assembly Plant in Phnom Penh SEZ Inaugurated Next Year

Exciting news on the automotive front with the much-anticipated Toyota assembly plant, nestled within the Phnom Penh Special Economic Zone (SEZ), being poised for a grand inauguration in 2024.

His Excellency Ueno Atsushi, Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia, recently shared this pivotal update during his courtesy call on Hun Sen, a significant event hosted at the prestigious 7 January Palace in the heart of Phnom Penh on 13 September 2023.

The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) reports that this remarkable project is backed by Toyota Tsusho Manufacturing (Cambodia) Co. Ltd., boasting a substantial total investment capital of US$36.7 million.

For several years now, Cambodia has been capturing the attention of international vehicle manufacturers. Its strategic location within Southeast Asia and its welcoming investment climate make it an enticing destination for such ventures.
