Two Bridges Transform Koh Norea Satellite City Into Cambodia’s Connectivity Hub

Presided over by Samdech Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, the Twin Dragon Bridge connecting NR No. 1 to Koh Norea Satellite City and the cable concrete bridge linking Koh Pich to Koh Norea Satellite City was officially inaugurated on 15 November 2023.

The first marvel, the bridge from Koh Pich to Koh Norea, spans an impressive 824 metres in length and 24.5 metres in width, boasting two soaring 60-metre-high cable-stayed pillars adorned with intricate Khmer carvings. With a minimum height clearance of 8 metres in the rainy season, the bridge is designed for smooth ship crossings. Featuring four main lanes and two motorbike lanes, the construction, completed in 35 months, came with a price tag of US$38 million, symbolising a new era in connectivity.

The second bridge, the so-called “Twin Dragon of Koh Norea”, an artistic rainbow-shaped concrete marvel connecting NR1 to Korea, stretches 16 metres in length and 21 metres in width. Achieving completion in 25 months for US$1.6 million, this bridge adds a touch of aesthetic grandeur to the satellite city’s infrastructure.

Both bridges are integral components of the larger vision to develop Koh Norea into a thriving satellite city, spearheaded by OCIC. The groundbreaking project, initiated on 26 October 2020, marks a transformative journey towards transforming Koh Norea into Cambodia’s burgeoning connectivity hub. (Read more)
