Construction on US$1.3 billion Kampot Multi-Purpose Port to begin in early May

Construction on a new US$1.3-nillion multipurpose port & logistics centre in Kampot province.is set to begin in early May, according to Minister of Public Works and Transport HE Sun Chanthol.

HE Sun Chanthol said on 27 April during the SHV port inspection that the development of infrastructure, roads, railways and ports are very vital, responding to the growth of the country’s economy.

“Talking about port developments, there is the port in Koh Kong, there is the port in Dara Sakor. On the 5 May, Kampot will see the construction of another port, which will help complement the port of Sihanoukville,” he said.

This multipurpose port & logistics centre was approved by the Council for the Development of Cambodia in January.

Located in Bokor city, Kampot province, the investment is registered under the name of Kampot Logistics and Port Company Limited.
