Techo Sen Koh Thom Hospital, a $10 Million Medical Marvel, Set to Open in August

The much-anticipated Techo Sen Koh Thom Hospital, a groundbreaking healthcare facility that stands as a testament to Cambodia’s commitment to quality medical care, is nearing its official opening in early August. With an investment of $10 million, the Ministry has reached a significant milestone by completing the construction phase and is now focused on signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with foreign philanthropists to secure the necessary medical equipment.

On 16 May 2023, a momentous occasion took place as HE Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister and Minister of Public Works and Transport, signed the MoU with representatives of foreign philanthropists. This agreement solidifies the collaboration to ensure the supply of essential medical equipment to the hospital.

According to the Ministry’s spokesperson, Techo Sen Koh Thom Hospital is now awaiting the arrival of state-of-the-art medical equipment and facilities. The grand inauguration is planned for early August 2023, marking a significant milestone in providing superior healthcare services to the country.

Designed in accordance with national standards, Techo Sen Koh Thom Hospital will boast a comprehensive range of cutting-edge medical equipment. To further elevate its capabilities, the hospital will feature a sophisticated Hospital Information System (HIS) for efficient equipment management, medication administration, and patient data analysis. The development of this advanced system has been meticulously studied and crafted by the General Department of Technology and Public Relations under the Ministry of Public Works and Transport.

Spanning an expansive 1.3-hectare area, the construction of this remarkable hospital commenced on 7 January 2022. The architectural marvel comprises three new buildings, including a three-story central building and a two-story left-right wing. Once operational, Techo Sen Koh Thom Hospital will cater to the healthcare needs of over 600,000 residents residing in Saang, Koh Thom, Leuk Dek, Kandal, and Prey Kabas districts of Takeo province.
