US$380k Cutting-Edge Storage Facility Officially Unveiled at Phnom Penh Autonomous Port

An impressive addition to Cambodia’s logistical infrastructure is now officially in operation as the Phnom Penh Autonomous Port (PPAP) unveiled its brand-new temporary customs warehouse. Valued at US$380,000, this state-of-the-art facility boasts a substantial storage capacity, capable of accommodating approximately 8,640 tons of cargo.

The inauguration of this cutting-edge warehouse was a momentous occasion, opened by the HE Peng Ponea, Minister of Public Works and Transport, on 24 October 2023.

Strategically located within the LM17 Container Terminal in the scenic surroundings of Kandal Leu village, Banteay Dek commune, Kien Svay district, Kandal province, this warehouse represents a remarkable milestone in Cambodia’s growing logistics and trade landscape.

The inception of this facility marks the culmination of an ambitious project that commenced on 3 January 2023 and reached completion on 31 August 2023. This achievement showcases Cambodia’s dedication to strengthening its infrastructure for the facilitation of trade and commerce.

The warehouse itself is an architectural marvel, with dimensions spanning 24.4 metres in width and 60 metres in length. The facility is paved with a substantial 1,510 square metres of reinforced concrete. Equipped to streamline operations, it features two office rooms and four parking gates, ensuring seamless cargo transfer.

With an impressive capacity to house around 8,640 tons of goods, this warehouse is set to play a pivotal role in bolstering Cambodia’s capabilities in handling imports and exports with greater efficiency.
