Vietnam Rubber Group Delegation Meets Ministry to Reinforce Investment Confidence and Strategic Ties

Cambodian Ministry of Land Management commits to full legal coordination for completed projects while urging the creation of rubber production communities to support local farmers

Phnom Penh: Strengthening cross-border economic integration and providing legal certainty for foreign investors remain vital priorities for the Royal Government of Cambodia as it seeks to drive sustainable agricultural development. On September 10, 2026, Deputy Prime Minister Say Samal, Minister of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction, hosted a high-level courtesy meeting with a delegation from the Vietnam Rubber Group operating in Cambodia. During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister extended a warm welcome and assured the delegation that for completed investment projects, the ministry will continue providing statutory support and completing required legal procedures to ensure full legal protection and long-term business clarity for Vietnamese rubber enterprises in the Kingdom.

Furthermore, Deputy Prime Minister Say Samal outlined two key strategic recommendations to guide future economic collaboration. First, he emphasized maximizing the country’s rubber potential by organizing local smallholders into structured production communities, enabling full collection and purchasing of raw rubber nationwide while improving farmer livelihoods. Second, he encouraged diversifying investments beyond natural rubber into other sectors aimed at supplying both domestic and regional markets, while also promoting joint ventures in manufacturing consumer goods and daily essentials.

This consultative meeting not only consolidates the public-private partnership framework between state institutions and enterprise investors, but also opens a new chapter for deeper economic cooperation and mutual benefit between Cambodia and Vietnam.

As a result, offering legal guarantees to existing investors while promoting community-based rubber production represents a practical strategy for advancing Cambodia’s agritech and industrial landscape. Aligning corporate investment with rural community development safeguards foreign capital, raises rural incomes, and builds a solid foundation for resilient, long-term economic growth. (read more)
