Takeo Province Set to Welcome 23 New Factories in 2025, Creating 15,000 Jobs

In a significant boost to the local economy, Takeo Province is gearing up for the establishment of 23 new factories and enterprises in the first half of 2025, with a total investment capital of approximately USD 75 million. This development is expected to generate around 15,000 job opportunities, particularly within the textile sector.

Governor HE Wei Samnang announced these promising developments on the Takeo Provincial Administration’s Facebook page on June 13, 2023. He emphasized the urgent need for skilled labor to meet the demands of these upcoming factories, highlighting that this growth offers substantial opportunities for job seekers, especially the youth entering the workforce.

“This is fantastic news for our workers, as well as for children looking for employment,” Governor Samnang stated. He noted that the expansion reflects the burgeoning potential of the industrial sector in Takeo Province and the increasing demand for labor.

The anticipation surrounding this investment comes on the heels of a report from the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), which revealed that within the first five months of 2025 alone, a staggering 290 investment projects have been registered, totaling approximately USD 4.2 billion. Notably, 62.27% of this investment has come from China, securing its position as the top investor. (Read more)

As reflected in the most recent report from the provincial Department of Labor, Training and Vocational Training, Takeo Province currently hosts 769 factories and enterprises, employing a total of 111,968 workers, of whom 79,610 are women. Among these facilities, there are 115 textile and garment factories, 455 non-garment factories, 195 service factories, and 4 brick factories. (Read more)
