Koh Yor Thmey Bridge, Koh Kong, Completed 100% Ready for Traversing Ahead of Formal Unveiling

The picturesque province of Koh Kong is celebrating a significant milestone as the new Koh Yor Thmey Bridge reaches completion, offering temporary access to citizens and tourists ahead of its official inauguration slated for mid-October.

Mr. On Davuth, Director of the Department of Public Works and Transport in Koh Kong province, shared during an interview with BTV on 7 August 2023, “Recognising the challenges posed by the rainy season and the safety concerns associated with the old Koh Yor steel bridge, authorities have extended the privilege of traversing the new Koh Yor Bridge even before its formal unveiling.”

The decision to allow early access aligns with the commitment to safety and convenience for citizens and visitors alike. The new bridge, a testament to modern engineering prowess, spans an impressive 126 meters in length and 11 meters in width. Situated in Bak Klang commune, Mondul Seima district, Koh Kong province, this remarkable project commenced in June 2022 and achieved completion in June 2023, standing as a testament to the swift progress fuelled by an investment of US$1.4 million.
