900-year-old Bridge in Siem Reap Under Renovation

The Ta Ong Bridge, a nearly 900-year-old ancient bridge in Siem Reap’s Chi Kreng district, is now under renovation, and according to the Apsara Authority, construction is scheduled to be complete by June this year.

Head of the Ta Ong Bridge Rehabilitation Project Puth Soth, said that the bridge is 70 metres long, and 13 metres wide, with 14 arches.

“In the first phase, our tasks include repairing the northern wall of the bridge, making stone registration plans, reinforcing the fallen stone pillars, compacting the soil, and implementing several other minor repairments,” said Mr Soth.

The project is being implemented using fund from the APSARA Authority and will be completed in June 2021.
