ADB Solid Waste Management Project in Kep 75% Complete, Operational by October 2021

The 8-hectare landfill, or solid waste management, project in Kep province is now 75% complete and scheduled to finish by October this year.

Construction site manager Tith Tikea said that the project is located in Sangkat Prey Thom, Kep city and is being constructed with financial aid from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

“Phase 1 of the project includes a 3,500-metre-long and 7-metre-wide concrete road and some other fundamental structures. Meanwhile, the second phase focuses on the construction of three solid waste storages. To date, the three storages have been completed,” said Mr Tikea.

“The team is now working on the construction of waste separation buildings, staff offices, and some other works,” he added.

The project is scheduled to be completed on 11 October 2021, with a capacity to store solid waste for 20 years.
