Cambodia Needs US$48bn to Implement 330 Projects in Transportation Sector in 10 Years

Cambodia will need approximately US$48 billion to implement 330 projects in the transportation and public works sectors over the next 10 years.

Minister of Public Works and Transport HE Sun Chanthol unveiled this data during the 26th ASEAN Transport Ministers Meeting with the US-ASEAN Business Council on Thursday 11 November.

HE Sun Chanthol added that not only Cambodia, but ASEAN nations as a whole will also need approximately US$210 billion annually until 2030 to invest in infrastructure and improve the efficiency of transportation, logistics, and supply chains.

He also highlighted the key results and other prioritised tasks for ASEAN including the completion of the Protocol to Implement the 12th Agreement on Air Transport Services under the ASEAN Framework Agreement, completion of ASEAN-EU Comprehensive Air Transport Agreement Negotiations, implementation of the 7th Protocol on the ASEAN Customs Transit System, and adoption of the Phnom Penh Declaration on Sustainable Urban Transport and Land Use Planning in the ASEAN Region, among others.
