Techo Westerdam Tourism Park to be Built in Sihanoukville

The National Committee for Clean City Assessment of the Ministry of Tourism plans to establish Techo Westerdam Park in Sihanoukville to attract tourists and commemorate the cruise disembarkment in 2020.

The committee has set up a technical working group to study the development of the Westerdam Tourism Park in Sihanoukville, according to a statement issued on15 February.

The working group is led by HE Kem Sereyroth, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Committee for Clean City Assessment.

The technical working group is tasked to cooperate with the Ministry of Environment and the Sihanoukville Provincial Administration to study the location, find a budget, technical support partners, and partners to implement the project.

Westerdam Park is being built to commemorate the event when Cambodia allowed the US cruise ship Westerdam to dock with a total of more than 2,000 people on board in early 2020 amid the early stages of the COVID pandemic.
