Feasibility Study Completed for US$240M Eastern Ring Road 3, Including 3 Mekong-Crossing Bridges

Shanghai Construction Group Co., Ltd has completed the feasibility study for the Eastern part of the Ring Road 3 project, which spans nearly 34.15km and is expected to cost approximately US$240 million, including the construction of three bridges across the Mekong River. The four-lane road will connect from Win-Win Boulevard at NR6 Intersection to the intersection of Road 70B, bypassing through two islands, Koh Dach and Koh Tang.

During the presentation to HE Lim Sidenin, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, and the ministry’s technical experts, the main construction technical work was discussed, including the parking lot, the geography of the area, as well as the water flow, and the dam to make this project more efficient and sustainable.

The three bridges will connect NR No. 6 to Koh Dach (1,311 metres long), Koh Dach to Koh Tang (579 metres long), and Koh Tang to Road 70B (1,044 metres long). This infrastructure project is expected to enhance transportation, promote regional economic development, and support the growth of the country’s real estate sector.

In addition, the first phase of the Ring Road 3 construction project, which connects NR No. 4 to NR No. 1, reached a completion rate of almost 90% in February. This is a positive sign for the successful implementation of the Eastern part of the project.

The construction of the Eastern part of Ring Road 3 is anticipated to have a significant impact on Cambodia’s capital’s transportation infrastructure and is set to enhance connectivity, promote trade and investment, and bolster economic growth in the country.  (Read more )
