GOV’t Licenses Five Companies to Inspect Vehicles at 23 Locations

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport has issued licenses to five companies to carry out technical vehicle inspections at 23 locations across Cambodia.

According to the inauguration ceremony of the Vehicle Technical Inspection Center (Cheek) of Cambodia Motor VHICK Inc. Securities Company (CMVIC) Samrong Andet Branch on 21 April 2023, CMVIC has received the most licenses with 19 locations, including six in Phnom Penh and 13 in the provinces. Other licensed companies are HK CAR INSPECTION, FUTURE AUTOMOBILE INSPECTION (FAI), SO BROTHERS CO., LTD, and AUTO CHECKS EXPERT.

The number of vehicles in Cambodia has reached over 153,000, with 14% of them having expired technical inspection certificates. The Ministry of Public Works and Transport has warned that vehicles without valid certificates face a fine of 500 riels per day for small cars and 2,000 riels for trucks.

With the licenses issued to these companies, vehicle owners can now easily access vehicle inspections at multiple locations, ensuring the safety and roadworthiness of their vehicles.

The technical inspection of vehicles is an essential part of ensuring public safety on the roads. With more licensed companies and more inspection locations, the public can now conveniently have their vehicles inspected and comply with government regulations.
