CAIC, Singapore’s SIAEC partner on aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul service in Cambodia

In a groundbreaking collaboration that promises to transform aircraft maintenance and repair services in Cambodia, Cambodia Airport Investment Co., Ltd (CAIC) and Singapore’s renowned SIA Engineering Company Limited (SIAEC) have joined forces to establish a line maintenance joint venture at the upcoming Techo International Airport (TIA). The signing of this significant joint venture agreement presided over by Oknha Dr Pung Kheav Se, Chairman of CAIC, and Mr Ng Chin Hwee, Chief Executive Officer of SIAEC, sets the stage for an innovative approach to aviation maintenance in the country.

Capitalizing on SIAEC’s esteemed reputation and expertise in engineering and operations, the line maintenance joint venture will seamlessly integrate with SIAEC’s existing network of Line Maintenance International (LMI) stations. This strategic partnership holds the potential to elevate TIA into a prominent regional hub for aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services, serving as a testament to Cambodia’s commitment to advancing its aviation sector.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the collaboration, Oknha Dr Pung Kheav Se, Chairman of CAIC, emphasized the importance of technical knowledge transfer and aligned work practices, which will play a pivotal role in the long-term success of the joint venture.

“By leveraging SIAEC’s established position as a leading line maintenance provider, the partnership aims to deliver unrivaled maintenance solutions, ensuring despatch reliability and top-notch quality to valued customers in international locations,” he added.

Set against the backdrop of the ambitious Techo International Airport project, which is designed to cater to 50 million passengers with three runways and a satellite terminal across a total land area of 2,600 hectares, across three phases of development. This strategic partnership heralds a new era of excellence in the aviation industry. With the completion of the airport construction reaching the halfway mark, Cambodia’s aviation landscape is poised for extraordinary growth, bolstered by cutting-edge infrastructure and world-class maintenance services.
