Cambodia Welcomes 12 New Investment Projects Boosting Industry & Energy Sectors

Cambodia is set to enhance its economic landscape with the approval of 12 new investment projects, collectively valued at USD 155 million, specifically targeting the industry and energy sectors. This significant development was confirmed during a one-stop meeting chaired by HE Chea Vuthy, Secretary-General of the Committee for Investment of Cambodia.

These projects are not only expected to stimulate economic growth but also aim to generate approximately 7,500 jobs for residents, providing a boost to employment within various communities.

Among the 12 approved projects, 11 are dedicated to industrial development and include a diverse range of initiatives such as:

– Metal processing plants

– Cardboard production facilities

– Manufacturing of festive products, including Halloween costumes and decorative dolls

– Production of candles and accessories

– Creation of pet supplies and toys

– Development of rubber flooring and boards

– Paint and ink production (utilizing chemicals)

– Manufacturing of lamps and home decoration materials, along with a wide array of electrical accessories

– Production of various types of fans and electronic accessories

– Furniture manufacturing

– Assembly of fan blades and doll production

In addition to the industrial projects, one notable infrastructure initiative involves the establishment of a 100-megawatt solar power station in Battambang province, which marks a significant step towards sustainable energy solutions in the country.

These projects will be strategically located across several provinces, including Phnom Penh, Kandal, Takeo, Kampong Speu, Preah Sihanouk, Pailin, and Battambang, fostering regional development and promoting balanced economic growth throughout Cambodia.

As the country continues to attract foreign investment, these initiatives underscore Cambodia’s commitment to enhancing its industrial capacity and energy independence, paving the way for a prosperous future.
