Chip Mong Breaks Ground on $250 Million Food and Beverage Production Complex in Phnom Penh

Domestic manufacturing in Cambodia achieved a major milestone as local conglomerate Chip Mong officially broke ground on a state-of-the-art food and beverage production facility valued at over $250 million. The groundbreaking ceremony held on August 1, 2026, was presided over by Samdech Men Sam An, Privy Councillor to His Majesty the King, in Khan Dangkao, Phnom Penh. During the ceremony, Samdech Men Sam An commended Chip Mong for introducing world-class manufacturing technology to deliver high-quality products for Cambodian consumers, highlighting the project as a clear testament to the company’s continuous growth and industrial advancement.

According to Neak Oknha Leang Khun, Co-Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Chip Mong, the 100% Cambodian-owned enterprise conducted nearly two years of comprehensive research and feasibility studies before committing the $250 million capital investment. Located in Roluos village, Sangkat Cheung Aek, Khan Dangkao, the new industrial complex will produce milk and dairy products, noodles, and tea. To guarantee international quality and safety standards, the production lines will be equipped with state-of-the-art technologies from global engineering firms, including GEA of Germany and Sidel of France.

Neak Oknha Leang Khun emphasized that the strategic venture is designed to strengthen Cambodia’s domestic production capacity, reduce reliance on food imports, and bolster national food security. In addition to creating valuable employment opportunities for local workers, the facility will deliver safe, high-standard goods designed to build local consumer confidence while preparing Cambodian-made products to compete on the international market in alignment with the Royal Government’s industrial policy.
