In a resounding commitment to safeguarding the nation’s cultural and ecological treasures, the Government of Cambodia has unveiled a visionary plan to establish 13 natural heritage sites spanning an expansive area of 46,949.42 hectares. 1. Kiriyong Natural Heritage Area: Encompassing 984.31 hectares within Treng and Reaksmey Sangha communes in Battambang province, this site is poised to become a bastion of environmental and cultural preservation.
2. Phnom Yeay Sam Natural Heritage Area: Spreading across 416 hectares in Banteay Meanchey province’s Toul Pong commune, this site holds promises of fostering both local pride and biodiversity conservation.
3. Phnom Teak Traing Natural Heritage Area: Encompassing 79.82 hectares in Rattanak Mondul district’s Treng commune, this site promises to preserve the delicate ecological balance of the region.
