Save The Lives to Build Sustainable Plastic Cement Brick Factory in Siem Reap

A groundbreaking initiative poised to redefine waste management and environmental sustainability is taking shape in Siem Reap. Save The Lives (Cambodia) Co., Ltd, a trailblazing entity in the realm of social responsibility, is set to establish an innovative urban solid waste recycling plant on over 5 hectares of land. The vision to convert waste into plastic cement bricks is gaining momentum, aligning perfectly with global sustainability goals.

In a landmark video conference held on 18 August 2023, company representatives joined forces with Mr Khim Finang, Deputy Governor of Siem Reap, to unveil their transformative plan. Mr Finang highlighted the escalating growth of urban solid waste as a pressing concern that demands attention and action.

“Save The Lives (Cambodia) Co., Ltd’s strategic initiative is a beacon of hope, addressing the burgeoning waste crisis through innovative solutions,” remarked Mr. Finang.

He added “The heart of this visionary project lies in the conversion of urban solid waste, sourced from landfills, into a diverse range of sustainable materials. By employing cutting-edge processing techniques, waste will be transformed into valuable resources such as plastic pellets, bricks, cement, plastics, glass, compost, and charcoal. This holistic approach promises to combat the adverse impacts of waste, including damage to the environment caused by rubbish, plastic waste, and glass.”

Beyond waste management, the project extends its positive impact to various facets of daily life. With a strategic focus on reducing the reliance on chemical fertilizers, diminishing the consumption of firewood and charcoal, and facilitating greater access to sustainable construction materials like bricks, cement, plastics, and glass, the initiative intertwines environmental and economic benefits. The endeavor aspires to protect the environment, enhance public health, and offer a valuable resource that aids consumers in saving both time and money.

The ambitious blueprint envisions the initial implementation of the project in Siem Reap, with plans to expand its footprint across different provinces and cities. The proposed establishment of a 5.5-hectare waste recycling company underscores the project’s scalability and potential to address waste-related challenges at various scales.

The pursuit of innovation knows no bounds for Save The Lives (Cambodia) Co., Ltd., as their commitment extends to the province of Pursat. This expansionary vision, as disclosed during the meeting on 9 August 2023, demonstrates a resolute dedication to transforming waste management practices nationwide.
