Enhancing Connectivity: Stung Treng City Linked to Sesan District with 7 New Bridges

In a significant stride towards improved infrastructure, seven new concrete bridges linking Stung Treng city to Sesan district town have been officially inaugurated. The inauguration ceremony for the DBST rubber road and concrete bridge in Sesan district, Stung Treng province, took place on 14 February 2024.

The completion of these bridges marks a substantial milestone in enhancing transportation accessibility for residents, allowing for smoother movement between villages and communes without the previous traffic challenges.

The newly inaugurated bridges include the O Khlong Bridge, O Sam Khuy Bridge, O Ba Deum Bridge, O Kamphoun Bridge, O Ku Bridge, O Chuor Chab Bridge, and O Khsach Bridge. These structures span along the 21 km rubber road, stretching from O Khlong Bridge to the junction leading to the Lower Sesan 2 dam to Srekor and Talat communes.

Mr Sar Kim Nath, Director of Stung Treng Provincial Department of Public Works and Transport, affirmed that the road and bridge development initiatives commenced in 2020. The first phase involved the construction of rubber roads, followed by the subsequent establishment of concrete bridges.

During the inauguration ceremony, HE Svay Sam Eang, Governor of Stung Treng Province, urged residents to cherish and maintain these new bridges, emphasizing their critical role in bolstering connectivity and facilitating economic and social activities in the region.
