The MLMUPC plans to establish a housing data management system to analyze the supply of housing to citizens

The Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction of Cambodia is planning to establish a housing data management system. This system will be used to analyze and plan the supply of housing for low- and middle-income citizens. His Excellency Seng Thany, Undersecretary of State of the Ministry, made this announcement on October 10, 2024, during a workshop on “Progress of Housing Performance” attended by officials from the Department of Land Management, Urban Planning, Construction, and Cadastre from 12 provinces.

The purpose of the workshop was to review the progress of housing development and supply projects. It focused on examining the preliminary data collected from various development sites and housing projects in the temporary construction areas of the 12 provinces, including Siem Reap, Kampong Thom, Preah Vihear, Oddar Meanchey, Banteay Meanchey, Battambang, Pailin, Pursat, Kratie, Stung Treng, Ratanakkiri, and Mondulkiri.

The Ministry has developed 15 priority policies in response to the Royal Government’s Pentagon Strategy. These policies cover land regulations, services, land registration, dispute resolution, territorial and urban planning, housing and social work concessions, staff building and capacity building, and institutional development. The Ministry aims to modernize data management systems and digital services.

HE urged the 12 Provincial Land Management Departments to compile housing data and create housing reports for general housing, affordable housing, and housing in temporary construction areas. This initiative aims to prepare for the establishment of a user-friendly housing data management system that will benefit all stakeholders.
