Cambodia Welcomes 12 New Investment Proposals Worth USD 135 Million

In a promising development for the nation’s economy, Cambodia received 12 new investment proposals in early February, collectively valued at USD 135 million. These proposals were submitted to the Cambodia Investment Committee, part of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, and will be examined at the upcoming second “Single Gateway Meeting” in 2025.

The meeting will be chaired by HE Chea Vuthy, Secretary General of the Cambodia Investment Committee, alongside representatives from pertinent ministries, institutions, and provincial authorities. These new projects are expected to create approximately 7,000 jobs across the nation.

Among the 12 proposals, there are 11 industrial projects focusing on sectors such as medical equipment, assembly and installation of household electrical appliances, metal processing, torch manufacturing, production of metal construction frames, metalworking tools, and garment dyeing. Additionally, there is one significant infrastructure project, which involves the development of a 30-megawatt solar power station.

These initiatives are slated in several provinces, including Kampong Speu, Takeo, Kandal, Kampot, and Kampong Chhnang, signaling a strategic regional investment and development approach.

To further bolster investment opportunities, the Council for the Development of Cambodia had previously received 17 applications in January, amounting to an investment capital of USD 150 million. The ongoing commitment to fostering economic growth through new investment projects reflects Cambodia’s dedication to creating a robust and sustainable economic future.
