Government Announces Temporary Opening of Cambodia’s Highest Bridge for New Year Celebration

 

In a festive announcement, the Cambodian government has declared the temporary opening of the country’s highest bridge in Pursat province, coinciding with the traditional National New Year celebrations.

From 11 -17 April 2025, the bridge will be accessible to motorcycles and small vehicles—typically used for tourist and family travel—from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This initiative aims to ease traffic and enhance accessibility for citizens and visitors during this joyous occasion.

The bridge, known as Bridge No. 28, is a critical component of the National Road No. 10 project. Constructed with a national budget of approximately USD 25 million, CRBC Company executed the project and is under the technical supervision of Guangzhou Wang An Company. Located in Chhay Luk village, O Som commune in Veal Veng district, the bridge represents a significant advancement in infrastructure for the region. (Read more)

National Road No. 10 is designed as a double-layer asphalt road that meets Highway Grade III standards, extending 197.363 kilometres. The road begins at kilometre marker 35+900 in Kanchang village, Battambang province, and travels through Pramoy commune in Veal Veng district, reaching its conclusion at the intersection of National Road No. 48 in Khemarak Phoumin city, Koh Kong province. As of the end of March 2025, the construction of the road is over 96% complete. (Read more)
