Chinese Companies Set to Boost Cambodia’s Environmental Sustainability Efforts

In a pivotal development for environmental sustainability in Cambodia, three leading Chinese companies have announced their interest in investing in the country’s clean environment initiatives. With extensive experience in wastewater treatment systems, these firms recently unveiled their investment proposals to the Cambodian Ministry of Environment.

During a meeting on July 7, 2025, His Excellency Eang Sophallet, the Minister of Environment, met with Mr. Li Wenjie, the Chairman of the Board of Directors at Guangzhou Zhongke Environmental Technology Co., Ltd. He was joined by representatives from two other prominent firms: Shenzhen Santai Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. and Jiangxi Jindalai Environmental Protection Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Branch.

Mr. Li Wenjie expressed enthusiasm for Cambodia’s advancements in environmental management and investment attractiveness. He reiterated his company’s commitment to supporting cleanliness and sustainability in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment.

Minister Eang Sophallet warmly welcomed the investors, recognizing the crucial role they will play in the nation’s development, particularly in environmental protection. He stressed the importance of integrating innovative technologies that resonate with Cambodia’s socio-economic landscape.

The Minister also outlined the Ministry of Environment’s ongoing initiatives to promote cleanliness through its environmental sector chakra strategy, which prioritizes maintaining clean skies, lands, and waters. He assured the investors of the Ministry’s support for their plans, aimed at fostering a clean, green, and sustainable environment in Cambodia.

These three companies bring a wealth of expertise, having successfully implemented liquid waste treatment systems in various regions, including China, Indonesia, Dubai, and Thailand. This promising collaboration stands to significantly advance Cambodia’s environmental objectives and contribute to its sustainable future.
