Multi-Purpose Port & Logistics Centre in Kampong Chhnang Equipping STM Technology to Open Soon

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport recently held a meeting to discuss the development progress of the Kampong Chhnang multi-purpose port and logistics centre, which is expected to open soon. The meeting was chaired by HE Senior Minister Sun Chanthol, Minister of Public Works and Transport, along with KLP.T TRANSPORTATION Co., Ltd and members of several technical working groups on 2 March 2023.

The Kampong Chhnang logistics centre and port are designed to facilitate land and water transportation and export agricultural products from six provinces in Cambodia, including Kampong Chhnang, Pursat, Battambang, Banteay Meanchey, Siem Reap, and Kampong Thom. This centre’s development is expected to significantly boost the national economy through advancing logistical infrastructure. (Read more)

To ensure the smooth transportation of goods to the logistics centre and port, the project team has constructed a road from Road 50C to the logistics centre, which connects to the port of Kampong Chhnang.

In addition, the technical team has equipped the logistics centre and port with Smart Truck Monitoring (STM) technology. This technology includes automatic vehicle inspection cameras and truck weighing stations, which will facilitate effective monitoring, operational management, and logistics activities.

During the meeting, HE Sun Chanthol encouraged all stakeholders to support and promote the development project of the Kampong Chhnang multi-purpose port and logistics centre in accordance with legal standards. He also urged for the project’s speedy completion to benefit the national economy.
