Kampong Chhnang Set for 100ha Multi-Purpose Port & Logistics Centre

A new 100-ha multi-purpose port & logistic centre is set to be built in Kampong Leng district in Kampong Chhang province to help promote water transport, provide jobs, and improve livelihoods in the Tonle Sap area. 

Located in Keng Ta Sok village, Kampong Hao commune, Kampong Leng district, the project will be developed by KLPT Transmission Co., Ltd. 

Mr Prak Vuthy, President of KLPT Transport Co., Ltd., said that the development in this area is categorised into three major phases. The first step is the business operation;  the second is to set up an oil storage centre; and the last is the establishment of a tourist port and a special economic zone. 

Kampong Chhnag Governor HE Sun Sovannarith stated that if developed, the port will be a key hub for the agricultural products trade. 

The government also recently announced plans to build three key infrastructure projects and establish a new economic pole in the province. (Read more and more)
