Angkor Enterprise Launches Online Ticketing System to Boost Tourism

In a major development aimed at enhancing the experience for international visitors, Angkor Enterprise has officially launched a comprehensive online ticket sales and inspection system for Angkor. The initiative, which seeks to attract tourists from around the globe, was inaugurated on January 30, 2024, under the leadership of His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister Neth Savoeun, representing His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn.

The newly modernized online ticketing system allows international tourists to conveniently purchase entry tickets through the Angkor website and via a dedicated mobile app available on both Google and Apple platforms. This effort aligns with the ongoing evolution of information technology, ensuring a seamless experience for travelers and tour operators alike.

To further enhance accessibility, the Angkor Foundation has streamlined the ticketing process by eliminating unnecessary information from the sales system. Notably, they have introduced self-service ticket machines located at strategic spots, including the Angkor Foundation ticket counters with six machines, Pavillion Angkor with six machines, and The Heritage Walk with three. In total, 15 self-service machines have been installed to expedite ticket purchasing.

Tourists and travel agents now have four convenient options for acquiring tickets to Angkor: online purchases, mobile app transactions, self-service machines, and traditional ticket sales counters.

The implementation of this system came at a time when Cambodia reported impressive ticket sales revenue. From January to December 2024, the country generated nearly USD 49 million from ticket sales to Angkor, Koh Ker Temple, and boat rides, highlighting the significance of these attractions in the national tourism sector.
