Australia Gifts eWater Source Modelling Platform to Cambodia

The Australian Government has officially gifted to Cambodia access to Australia’s national water modelling platform or eWater Source to help strengthen Cambodia’s irrigation infrastructure and management.

The official giving ceremony was presided over by Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology HE Lim Kean Hor and Australian Ambassador to Cambodia HE Pablo Kang.

eWater Source, Australia’s national hydrological modelling, will enable Cambodia to better study and analyse water resources more efficiently. It will also provide substantial data which can help in decision-making regarding the development of water infrastructure and the allocation of water for a range of users.

The program also includes data on climate change analysis which was developed by using unique tools and technologies.

“We are pleased to share an important Australian innovation with our neighbours and friends in Cambodia because doing so will help ensure water governance is based on solid evidence and can contribute to Cambodia’s post-COVID recovery,” said Ambassador Kang.
