Battambang Administration Urges Building Owners in Sangkat Svay Por to Demolish Immediately

The Battambang Municipal Administration has set deadlines for homeowners and owners of business buildings in Sangkat Svay Por to demolish immediately balconies and all kinds of billboards by 01 August 2022.

According to the announcement of the administration on 25 July 2022, it is designed to organize the beauty and order in the heritage area of ​​Battambang City.

Owners of buildings located along Streed No.1.5, Street No.2, Street No.2.5, Street No.3, and all streets across Street No.1 to Street No.3 in the heritage area (from Piphetthearam Pagoda to Damrey Sor Pagoda and from Street No.1 to Street No.3) in Sangkat Svay Por, must demolish and renovate following the model and guidelines of the Battambang Provincial Administration.

In case of non-compliance with this notice, the municipal administration will dismantle and retain items for a legal settlement and will not be liable for any damages.

In the heritage areas, the Battambang Provincial Administration has taken care to maintain the construction of ancient buildings and prevent people from repairing ancient houses differently from the original form of the building.
