Bidding Results of Japan-funded Multi-million Projects to Be Announced

Results of the bidding process for the multi-million dollar Japanese-funded projects will be announced very soon, according to the Phnom Penh Municipality.

On 27 October, 2018, Phnom Penh Municipality spokesman Mr Met Meas Pheakdey told Construction&Property Magazine that the results of the bidding for the ‘flood prevention and the rehabilitation of pipe system’ projects will be announced shortly after the delegates return to the country from Japan.

“Now, the delegates are returning … maybe in two or three days we will know the results,” said Mr Met MeasPheakdey.

The projects from the Japanese government, he explained, are worth around US$30 million and are fully-funded through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and are set to be implemented in November this year.

JICA organised the bidding process, according to a Phnom Penh Municipality Facebook post on 23 October, 2018,. The projects includes; 1) Installing a drainage network in ToulKork with a total length of 8.2km 2) Installing a drainage network in Daun Penh with a total length of 4.4km 3) Building an underground reservoir and constructing a pumping station in the park in front of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) and 4) Installing automatic mechanical cavities to collect garbage at the Chaktomuk pumping station Preah Konlorng 1 Preah AngKonlorng II, and Old Market, and 5) Providing two portable water pickup trucks.
