Cambodia and Australia Officially Launch Automotive Center of Excellence to Drive Industrial Skills

The Automotive Center of Excellence in Cambodia (ACE-C), also known as ACE Cambodia, was officially inaugurated on March 16, 2026, marking a significant advancement in the Kingdom’s industrial workforce development. The launch ceremony was presided over by His Excellency Heng Sour, Minister of Labour and Vocational Training, and Ms. Bridget Collier, Chargé d’Affaires of the Australian Embassy in Cambodia.

Established as a flagship initiative under a partnership between the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training and Australia’s Bendigo Kangan Institute (BKI), the center is fully supported by the Australian Government. The project is designed to enhance technical expertise and provide world-class training standards for the country’s growing automotive and mechanical sectors.

During the launch, Minister Heng Sour emphasized that the center represents more than just a technical collaboration; it is a historical milestone in the bilateral relationship between Cambodia and Australia. He noted that the initiative aligns directly with the government’s strategic goals for human capital development, reflecting a shared commitment to fostering lifelong learning and technical proficiency.

Ms. Bridget Collier characterized the center as a fresh chapter in the long-standing cooperation between Australia and Cambodia in the fields of education and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). She reaffirmed Australia’s dedication to supporting Cambodia’s human resource development, ensuring the workforce is well-equipped to meet the evolving demands of both current and future labor markets.

This joint venture underscores the growing technical synergy between the two nations, positioning Cambodia to better navigate the complexities of modern industrial growth and technological integration while providing high-quality career paths for Cambodian youth.
