Cambodia and Malaysia Join Forces to Establish Fresh Milk Factory

In a significant development for the agricultural and dairy industries, Cambodia’s Alpha Group and Malaysia’s Fresh Farm Berhad have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to set up a joint venture focused on dairy production. The agreement was formalized on May 10, 2017, in Kuala Lumpur, under the guidance of His Excellency Sun Chanthol, Director General of Development of Cambodia. Notable attendees included Mr. Loi Tuan Ee, CEO of Fresh Farm Berhad, and Oknha Ly Khunthai, the Director of Alpha Group.

This collaboration marks a key milestone for both nations, as it will lead to the establishment of a dairy cow factory and a raw milk processing facility. Farm Fresh Group, a leading dairy cow production company in Malaysia, will team up with Cambodia’s Alpha Group to build the largest dairy farming operation in the region, starting with a herd of 134 cows.

The MoU emphasizes the commitment of both parties to enhance the supply of milk and dairy products, aiming to meet the growing demand in Southeast Asia. Oknha Ly Khunthai expressed optimism about the partnership, highlighting the potential for exchanging milk products and expertise between the two companies.

This investment is expected to not only bolster the local economy but also improve food security and nutritional standards in both Cambodia and Malaysia. The collaborative effort illustrates a strong commitment to agricultural advancement and regional cooperation in the dairy sector.
