High-level dialogue highlights collaborative efforts to resolve investor challenges and expand the footprint of American enterprises in the Kingdom

The United States Embassy in Cambodia has reaffirmed its dedication to improving the local investment climate and business environment, a move aimed at catalyzing further economic, trade, and investment cooperation between the two nations. This commitment was the cornerstone of the 4th Cambodia-United States Government-Private Sector Dialogue, which took place on March 11, 2026. The high-level meeting was led by His Excellency Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice-Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, alongside Ms. Bridgette L. Walker, Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Cambodia.

During the session, Ms. Walker highlighted the embassy’s proactive stance in collaborating with the Cambodian government to review and find appropriate solutions for the specific challenges currently faced by American investors. This collaborative approach is intended to not only enhance the overall ease of doing business but also to significantly strengthen and expand the presence of American enterprises across various sectors in the country. By fostering a more transparent and supportive ecosystem, both parties aim to encourage a new wave of U.S. investment that can contribute to Cambodia’s long-term economic resilience and sustainable development.

His Excellency Sun Chanthol emphasized that maintaining an open and effective channel of communication between the state and the private sector is vital for identifying bottlenecks and streamlining business operations. The dialogue underscores a shared strategic commitment to building a robust economic framework that benefits both Cambodian and American stakeholders, ensuring that the Kingdom remains a competitive and attractive destination for high-quality international capital.
