China Plays Key Role in Infrastructure Development in Cambodia, says PM Hun Sen

China has played a key role in infrastructure development projects in Cambodia, according to Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen.

Speaking at the Morodok Techo National Stadium handover ceremony on Sunday, Samdech Hun Sen said to date China is the top financing source for Cambodia’s infrastructure development.

“Some would say we lean too much toward China. But, if China doesn’t help us, who will? Who will play the role instead of China in building infrastructure in Cambodia? If I do not rely on China, who should I rely on?” he asked.

However, he added that this statement doesn’t mean that Cambodia is relying on only China, but Cambodia welcomes every source of financing.
