Eve Energy Partners with Energy Absolute to Establish Cutting-Edge Lithium-Ion Battery Plant in Thailand

Chinese battery manufacturer Eve Energy has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Energy Absolute (EA), Thailand’s premier renewable energy company. Their collaborative goal is to construct and operate a cutting-edge factory dedicated to the production of lithium-ion batteries, specifically for electric vehicles (EVs). This announcement aligns with the global trend of investment in such facilities, preparing for the expected surge in electric vehicle production.

Eve Energy holds the distinction of being China’s third-largest lithium-ion battery technology provider, boasting a total production capacity of approximately 360 gigawatt-hours (GWh). In an official statement released at the start of August, Eve Energy detailed that the joint venture plant would be a “digital and intelligent factory” with an initial production capacity of no less than six gigawatt-hours annually.

Under this partnership, Eve Energy will oversee the plant’s construction, day-to-day operations, sales, and research into new product development. Meanwhile, Energy Absolute will concentrate on collaborating with local government entities to secure subsidies, financing, and effective product marketing strategies.

In its press release, Eve Energy emphasised its commitment to building a facility that would contribute to the advancement of Thailand’s automotive industry, marking a significant step towards a sustainable and innovative future.
