Construction of Russey Keo-Chroy Changva Concrete Bridge 63% Complete

Construction of the concrete bridge across the Tonle Sap River from NR5 in Khan Russey Keo to NR6 in Khan Chroy Changvar is now 63.7% complete, according to the Department of Public Works and Transport of Phnom Penh on 25 January.

This concrete bridge is being built parallel with the temporary iron bridge. After the completion of this concrete bridge, which is scheduled for March 2023, the iron bridge will be dismantled.

The Russey Keo-Chroy Changva concrete bridge is 922 metres long and 20.5 metres wide with 1.25 metres of sidewalk space on each side. This project has been under construction since 23 October 2017 with a total budget of US$35 million.

Upon completion, the bridge will play an important role in relieving traffic on National Road 6, and National Road 5, especially in the Chroy Changva and Russei Keo areas. It also connects Phnom Penh to the Techo Heritage National Centre.
