Construction of Siem Reap Angkor International Airport 63% Complete

Construction of the new Siem Reap Angkor International Airport has been 63% completed by the end of 2022, while the developer is aiming for 90% completion by March this year. 

The progress of the project was mentioned in a meeting held on 9 January under the chairmanship of HE Tekreth Samrach, Minister Delegate Attached to the Prime Minister and Secretary of State of the Office of the Council of Ministers. 

The company said the construction is a bit slower than scheduled due to the disruption of construction materials supply from China during the COVID-19 period. 

The company said that it would accelerate the work to reach 90% by March this year. 

Appreciating the company’s work in a hard time of world crisis, HE Tekreth Samrach said that the inauguration is expected to be held in October 2023. 

The construction of Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport began in March 2020 by AIAI with an investment capital of approximately US$880 million. (Read more)
