Diamond Island Convention Centre to Become COVID-19 Treatment Facility

The OCIC, Canadia Group, and Cambodia Constructors Association (CCA) Chairman Neak Oknha Pung Kheav Se has allowed the government to convert Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition Centre as a COVID-19 treatment facility, according to Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen on 10 April.

PM Hun Sen announced that currently there are three hospitals to treat COVID-19 patients, but they are all full. Thus, more facilities are needed.

“We plan to set up at least 5,000 beds at the Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition Center. However, that place will be used for only mild-symptoms patients. The critical ones will be sent to the hospitals,” said PM Hun Sen.

In addition to providing a location, Oknha Pung Kheav Se yesterday also inspected the actual site to ensure things proceed smoothly.

Oknha Pung Kheav Se has always contributed to the government to help solve the COVID-19 crisis. As of the beginning of April, he has donated at least four times with a total fund of almost US$10 million. (Read more)

Besides the direct donations, CCA, Canadia Group, and OCIC have been actively and continuously contributing to the kingdom’s economy. Despite the pandemic, none of the projects owned by OCIC have been delayed, rather generating more jobs and largely contributing to economic growth.
