Cambodia CCA to Form Large-Scale Business Ties with Malaysian Chamber of Commerce & Biggest Malaysian SME Association

In a pivotal move towards fostering international business ties, the Cambodia Constructors Association (CCA) orchestrated a momentous meeting with the Malaysia-Cambodia Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) on 8 November 2023. The high-profile meeting, hosted by Oknha Charles Van, representing Neak Oknha Pung Kheav Se, President of CCA, and attended by Mr Dato’s Sri Dr Rick Yaw, President of MCCC, marked the initiation of a significant collaboration set to reshape the economic landscape of both nations.

The gathering served as a platform for the exchange of ideas, where the leaders delved into future plans and discussed avenues for mutual collaboration. Dr Yaw, introducing the MCCC, shared its inception story, which began on 9 December 2022, under the guidance of Neak Oknha Pung Kheav Se. The sole purpose of MCCC is to bridge the business communities of Cambodia and Malaysia, fostering a climate of cooperation and shared prosperity.

Expressing keen interest in the Cambodian market, Dr Yaw extended invitations to CCA for several impactful initiatives, including the “Installation Night of MCCC” in Malaysia, scheduled for April 2024, graced by the Prime Minister of Malaysia. The invitation also encompasses a mission trip for Cambodian entrepreneurs to visit Malaysian companies to explore the investment potential of Malaysian companies.

Dr Yaw further unveiled plans to bring over 40 Malaysian businessmen, representing the largest SME association in Malaysia, for a trade mission to Cambodia post-May 2024. This will be followed by another substantial business trip, bringing over 60 business owners from Malaysia, including well-known companies such as Chip Mong and World Bridge.

In response, Oknha Charles Van commended the collaborative efforts between Mr Dato’ Sri Dr Ricky Yaw and the Cambodian counterparts in successfully establishing MCCC. He expressed a warm welcome to the prospect of increased collaboration, affirming that “CCA and its members always welcome investors, especially from Malaysia, ready to provide any necessary services to support ventures in Cambodia.”

Concluding the meeting, Oknha Charles Vann conveyed his appreciation for the growing interest and substantial presence of Malaysian businesses in the Cambodian market. He expressed gratitude, anticipating the next steps in cooperation that would unlock the full potential of business opportunities between the two nations.
