Cambodia extracts over 2.2 tons of gold ore as of March

Renaissance Mineral Limited (Cambodia) has extracted 2,275 kilograms of gold ore in nine months since the start of operation in June last year at the Mondulkiri.

The gold ore refinery amount was announced by Prime Minister Samdech Hun sen at the inauguration of the Chom Chao flyover and underpass on 31 March.

“In a nine-month period, we produced 2,275 kilograms of gold, but when we turned it into pour gold, we had to remove 10%. So, about 2 tons of pure gold remains,” he said.

The firm is expected to extract 3 tons of gold ore per year during the first eight years, with gold being exported to refine in Australia.
